The marathon that is the US election is over and the US has a new president. Whether or not you voted for McCain or Obama, the big question everyone is asking is “what does this mean for the economy?” What you should be asking is what does this mean for ME? This is especially true if you don’t have a job because the government and big business spent the past 4 years together chilling with Heff at the Playboy Mansion telling each other how great they are.
Now we know this isn’t a news flash, but CNNMoney.com is reporting that the job market is going to take a hit which means two things are going to happen:
• Unemployment will rise and
• Resumes will be as common as expensed lap dances and lunch at strip clubs on Wall Street
The age old question becomes: How do I write a cover letter and a resume that make me stand out from all the other poor schmucks? Well, it’s not that easy and you can find dozens of articles and websites that claim they have the solution. Problem is, most of them are crap and/or talk about situations that don’t apply to you. And by time you find and buy a book on the subject, the winds of change have blown through and the only thing your fancy “new” book is good for is starting your fire pit.
